Hamilton, Pistons snap road woes in rout of Raptors

Dec 23, 2010 - 4:52 AM Toronto, ON (Sports Network) - Richard Hamilton made a career-high six three- pointers en route to a season-high 35 points, and the Detroit Pistons snapped an eight-game road losing streak with a 115-93 victory over the Toronto Raptors at Air Canada Centre.

Rodney Stuckey added 21 points for the Pistons, who won as the guest for the first time since November 14. Charlie Villanueva and Tracy McGrady donated 18 and 17 points, respectively.

Playing in his 1,000th game, Ben Wallace tallied four points and six rebounds for Detroit, which had lost five in a row against Toronto.

"Tonight I just wanted to make a statement," Hamilton said. "With all the stuff talked about and things like that, I just wanted to come out and make a statement."

Linas Kleiza finished with 19 points and five rebounds for the Raptors, who have lost two in a row and eight of 10 overall. Leandro Barbosa scored 21 points off the bench.

Toronto turned the ball over 24 times, leading to 41 Detroit points.

"Our best players have been banged up a little bit, Jose (Calderon) and Andrea (Bargnani), and they both had horrible games," Raptors head coach Jay Triano said.

The Raptors actually led by five in the first quarter, but Hamilton's trey gave Detroit a 24-23 edge after 12 minutes.

Toronto was ahead by one, 33-32, early in the second when the Pistons scored 14 of the next 16 points to go in front for good. Villanueva capped the surge with a jumper to make it a 46-35 contest with four minutes remaining.

Detroit scored the final seven points of the first half to take a 62-44 margin into the locker room.

An even third quarter resulted in the Pistons holding an 86-68 advantage.

The Pistons, who blew a 25-point lead the last time these teams met, made sure they put the game out of reach in the fourth.

Holding a 90-74 lead, Detroit ripped off 15 straight points. Hamilton bookended the burst with a jumper and three-pointer to give the Pistons a 105-74 lead with under 6 1/2 minutes to play.
