Magic visit reeling Cavs

Dec 28, 2010 - 3:48 PM (Sports Network) - The Orlando Magic seem to be back on track since their recent lull and will shoot for a fourth straight win tonight against the Cleveland Cavaliers at Quicken Loans Arena.

Orlando had dropped four straight and eight of nine contests before its current three-game winning streak and remained in the win column with Monday's 104-88 win at New Jersey. Dwight Howard powered his way to 19 points and 13 rebounds, while Hedo Turkoglu netted 20 points for the Magic, whose team bus arrived late to the arena because of a recent winter storm that blanketed the Newark area with as much as two feet of snow.

The Magic were able to fend off a brief Nets rally late in the game to improve to 8-7 away from central Florida this season.

"We didn't want it to get that close," Howard stated. "We just tried to do the best we can of the defensive end. Luckily we got a good win."

J.J. Redick, Jason Richardson, Brandon Bass and Gilbert Arenas combined for 49 points, with Redick leading the quartet with 15 points.

Cleveland has lost three in a row and 13 of 14 games, and is coming off Sunday's 98-97 loss versus Minnesota in which Antawn Jamison scored a team- high 24 points and missed a potential game-winning shot at the buzzer.

"This one stings a little bit more than almost, probably, any one this season," Cavs coach Byron Scott said. "That one stung. We had it with three minutes left in the game. We really had the game won. Defensively, we allowed them to step into some threes. (We) just gave them too many easy shots and it ended up biting us in the butt at the end."

Anthony Parker added 21 points and seven assists, Mo Williams finished with 17 points and 11 assists for his fifth straight double-double and J.J. Hickson added 11 points for the Cavs, who may not have guard Daniel Gibson tonight because of flu-like symptoms. He is listed as questionable and did not play against the Timberwolves.

Cleveland has lost two straight games at home and is only 3-13 in the Forest City this season.

Orlando defeated the Cavaliers, 111-100, on Nov. 26 this season at Amway Center and has won three straight and seven of the previous 10 matchups between the two clubs.
