Heat go for 12th straight road win at Milwaukee

Jan 7, 2011 - 4:20 PM (Sports Network) - The red-hot Miami Heat will shoot for their 12th straight road win tonight when they take on the Milwaukee Bucks for the second time this week in the opener of a five-game road trip at the Bradley Center.

It may be a bit early to look ahead but Miami could also be closing in on some impressive history. If the Heat, who will also face Portland, the LA Clippers, Denver and Chicago, can go undefeated on this trek they will match the 1971-72 Lakers for the longest road winning streak in NBA history at 16.

The Heat won their seventh straight game overall on Tuesday when Dwyane Wade led all scorers with 34 points and LeBron James went for 25 and nine assists, as Miami downed Milwaukee, 101-89, at American Airlines Arena.

Chris Bosh turned in a double-double with 19 points and 12 rebounds for Miami, which has now won 19 of its last 20 games overall, with the only loss coming to Dallas on Dec. 20.

"The Milwaukee Bucks have a frustrating style of play," Wade said. "It's difficult to get separation. It's easy to settle for jump shots, but we kept attacking."

John Salmons had a team-high 18 points, while Andrew Bogut donated 16 points and eight boards for the Bucks. Keyon Dooling finished with 14 points in defeat.

"We played pretty hard tonight," Bucks head coach Scott Skiles said after that contest. "Whenever we were trying to keep contact with them in the second half, it got away from us."

Milwaukee then followed that up with another loss in Orlando on Wednesday when Dwight Howard totaled 28 points and 13 rebounds as the Magic fended off a late rally in a 97-87 victory over the Bucks at Amway Center.

Corey Maggette came off the bench to score 21 points and grab seven rebounds and Larry Sanders supplied 15 points and eight boards in a reserve role for the Bucks, who have dropped two in a row and four of their last five.

Forward Drew Gooden (plantar fasciitis) and guards Brandon Jennings (left foot surgery) and Carlos Delfino (strained neck) remain out for the Bucks.

The Heat have taken three straight over Milwaukee, including a pair of games this season.
