Kings snap road skid with win over Knicks
Jan 15, 2011 - 3:54 AM New York, NY (Sports Network) - Beno Udrih finished with a game-high 29 points, and the Sacramento Kings snapped a 12-game road skid with a 93-83 victory over the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden.Rookie DeMarcus Cousins added 16 points and 10 rebounds for Sacramento, which has won four straight at MSG. Carl Landry added 15 points and nine rebounds in a reserve role.
Amare Stoudemire led the Knicks with 25 points and 13 rebounds. Stoudemire has scored at least 20 points in 24 consecutive games, the most since Patrick Ewing did it in 28 straight contests from January 25-March 27, 1990.
Toney Douglas and Bill Walker added 21 and 11 points, respectively, for New York, which had a four-game home winning streak snapped. Douglas added nine rebounds in the loss.
Cousins scored eight points in the first quarter to help Sacramento take a 24-15 lead. The Knicks responded in the second, ending the half on an 18-7 run to cut their deficit to 46-42.
Raymond Felton connected on 1-of-2 from the line to tie the game at 46 a minute into the third quarter. However, after Udrih made a technical free throw with 6:17 left, the Kings' lead was back up to seven, 55-48.
Sacramento ended the third on a 7-2 run, capped by an Udrih three-pointer with 37.6 ticks left, to take a 69-58 lead into the final stanza.
The Kings' advantage never fell below nine down the stretch.
