Magic hit the road to Houston

Jan 22, 2011 - 4:07 PM (Sports Network) - The Orlando Magic will hit the road tonight to face the Houston Rockets at the Toyota Center.

Orlando has won two straight and 12 of 15 games, including Friday's 112-72 triumph over the Toronto Raptors from Amway Center. Dwight Howard bullied his way to 31 points and 19 rebounds for the Magic, who have won eight straight at home.

"I just tried to be dominant on both ends," Howard said. "As a team we did a good job on the defensive end."

Ryan Anderson finished with 21 points and 10 rebounds, while J.J. Redick contributed 12 points in a winning cause. Brandon Bass contributed 10 points and nine boards, as the Magic improved to 17-5 in central Florida.

The Magic will try to work on their 11-10 road ledger tonight.

Meanwhile, the Rockets hope to get back to their winning ways when they host Orlando tonight at the Toyota Center.

Houston had a three-game winning streak stopped with Friday's 115-110 loss in Memphis, as leading scorer Kevin Martin posted 32 points and Luis Scola 19 in defeat. Shane Battier notched 15 points and eight boards for the Rockets, whose seven-game winning streak against Memphis came to an end.

"They really hammered us around the rim," Houston coach Rick Adelman said. "Points in the paint they had was probably double what we had. They dominated the basket area."

The Rockets were outrebounded by a 45-37 margin. They are 12-9 as the host in 2010-11.

Orlando defeated Houston, 110-95, on Jan. 7 this season at home and has won three straight in the series. The Rockets, however, are 12-5 in the previous 17 encounters in this series.
