Jan 23, 2011 - 7:27 AM Milwaukee, WI (Sports Network) - Marc Gasol finished with 24 points and tied a career-high with 16 rebounds as Memphis used a late surge to top Milwaukee, 94-81, at Bradley Center.Zach Randolph added 16 points with 11 rebounds for Memphis, which got 14 points in a reserve role from Darrell Arthur. Earl Boykins paced the Bucks with 23 points in a reserve role, while Andrew Bogut added 14 points and nine rebounds for Milwaukee, which played without guards John Salmons and Brandon Jennings.
Jennings missed the game after having surgery to repair a broken toe in his left foot while Salmons was sidelined with a right hip strain.
Memphis took a 72-59 lead into the final stanza, but after a Corey Maggette layup with 3:17 remaining the Bucks' deficit was down to 81-77. However, Mike Conley and Mayo then connected on consecutive three-pointers to extend the Grizzlies edge back to double-digits with 1:23 to go in the game.
"If we get an open one, take it," Mayo said of the team's offensive philosophy in regards to three-pointers. "We just have to focus on executing our plays."
Carlos Delfino was then sent to the line with a chance to trim the lead, but he missed both attempts, and Randolph converted a layup off a Mayo missed three to continue the Memphis surge.
Larry Sanders ended the run with a jumper with 44.5 ticks to play, but the hosts got no closer than nine the rest of the way.
"It's hard to win games scoring 80 points a game," Boykins said. "It wasn't our defense tonight, we just have to make shots."
The Grizzlies held a 21-19 lead after a back-and-forth first quarter. Boykins scored 13 of Milwaukee's 21 points in the second quarter, and the Bucks trailed 43-40 at the break.
