Hawks aim to extend road streak in Milwaukee

Jan 26, 2011 - 4:40 PM (Sports Network) - The Atlanta Hawks expect both Al Horford and Marvin Williams back in the lineup tonight when they try to extend their six-game road winning streak against the slumping Milwaukee Bucks at Bradley Center.

Atlanta earned its latest road win in Charlotte last Saturday when Joe Johnson finished with a game-high 32 points to lead the Hawks over the Bobcats, 103-87.

Josh Smith added 16 points and seven rebounds, while both Mike Bibby and Jamal Crawford notched 14 points for the Hawks, who have won three of four overall.

Williams has been sidelined with a balky back since Dec. 29, while Horford missed the team's last two games with a sore right ankle. The Hawks' first encounter without Horford was a disaster as the team shot just 29.1 percent in a 100-59 loss to visiting New Orleans last Friday, scoring its fewest points in a contest since moving to Atlanta in 1968.

"We came out and made the plays we had to," Johnson said after the win in Charlotte. "We played with a lot more energy than [Friday] and started to play Hawks basketball again."

The Hawks haven't won seven straight on the road since Nov. 17-Dec. 22, 1993.

The Bucks, meanwhile, lost their second straight contest in Chicago on Monday when Kurt Thomas finished with 22 points to go along with nine rebounds and five assists as the Bulls topped Milwaukee, 92-83.

Chris Douglas-Roberts led the Bucks with a game-high 30 points. Ersan Ilyasova scored 17 while Keyon Dooling finished with 13 points and 10 assists for Milwaukee, which has dropped five of seven overall.

The Bucks continue to play without their starting backcourt of Brandon Jennings and John Salmons. Jennings is expected to return later this week from a broken left foot suffered Dec. 18 against Utah while Salmons, who has missed the past four games with a strained right hip, remains listed as day-to-day.

These two teams have split a pair of meetings so far this season and their Jan. 11 game scheduled at Philips Arena was postponed until March 15 due to inclement weather.
