Bobcats hope to continue road success in Oakland vs. Warriors

Jan 28, 2011 - 4:30 PM (Sports Network) - The Charlotte Bobcats will try to stay perfect on their six-game road trip when they visit the Golden State Warriors tonight at Oracle Arena.

The Bobcats have beaten Sacramento and Phoenix so far on the trek and are coming off Wednesday's 114-107 victory over the Suns in the desert. Stephen Jackson had 23 points and seven rebounds, Gerald Wallace supplied 22 points and 10 boards and Boris Diaw collected 18 points, six rebounds and five assists for Charlotte, winners in eight of its last 12 games.

Head coach Paul Silas improved to 10-6 since taking over for Larry Brown in late December. Charlotte was 9-19 over the season's first 28 games.

"I think his (head coach Paul Silas) demeanor, his style, the way he coaches, he always tells us everything is alright," Wallace said. "I think the calmer the coaches are, that makes us out on the court calmer. We didn't panic. They made some shots but we stuck to our principles and we were able to come out with a win tonight."

Charlotte will also visit the Clippers, Jazz and Pistons, and is 7-14 away from Time Warner Cable Arena this season. It has won three straight as the visitor.

Golden State has lost three in a row since winning four straight and fell to 0-2 on an eight-game homestand with Wednesday's 112-103 setback versus the New Orleans Hornets in Oakland.

Monta Ellis and Dorell Wright scored 26 and 25 points, respectively, for the Warriors, who are 13-9 at home and got 20 points and six assists from Stephen Curry. David Lee added 16 points and 10 boards in defeat.

"They came out ready to play and they out worked us in the first quarter," Wright said. "I think they started out 14 of 18 and you are not going to win games when a team is shooting like that. We were careless with the ball and missed some key shots. But, they are a good team and there is a reason they in the midst of 10-game winning streak."

The Warriors are slated to host Utah, Milwaukee, Chicago, Phoenix and Denver on the current residency.

Golden State beat Charlotte, 96-95, in the first meeting of the season between the teams on Dec. 31 at Time Warner Cable Arena. Ellis' layup with 1:20 remaining proved to be the difference and he ended with 25 points and five assists. Wright had 17 points in that one.
