House helps Heat stifle Thunder

Jan 31, 2011 - 12:27 AM Oklahoma City, OK (Sports Network) - Eddie House hit a go-ahead three-pointer with 22.2 seconds remaining, as the Miami Heat held on for a 108-103 decision over the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Dwyane Wade had a team-leading 32 points to go with nine rebounds and LeBron James registered a double-double with 23 points and 13 assists for Miami, which has won three of its last four.

Chris Bosh returned to the starting lineup after missing the previous four games with a sprained left ankle and donated 20 points and seven boards in the victory.

Kevin Durant led all scorers with 33 points and added 10 rebounds for the Thunder, who had a six-game home winning streak halted. Jeff Green contributed 23 points and 11 boards, while Russell Westbrook went for 21 points, 10 assists and seven rebounds in defeat.

"I thought we played as hard as we could play," Thunder head coach Scott Brooks said. "We missed some shots normally we would make. The little things are very important to win basketball games and we'll continue to improve in those areas and hopefully we'll continue to get better."

Tied at 88-all early in the fourth quarter, Wade finished off a 10-2 run with a fadeaway jumper to put the Heat up 98-90 with 5:50 left. He then knocked down a pair of free throws with just over two minutes on the clock for a 102-97 game.

However, Durant and Westbrook each made two at the stripe before Durant hit a long jumper from the top of the key to give the Thunder a 103-102 lead with 34.3 seconds remaining.

Wade missed from medium range on the Heat's ensuing trip, but Mike Miller grabbed the offensive rebound and kicked it out to House, who drained the triple from the right side to put Miami up for good at 105-103.

Durant's short jumper was off the mark out of an Oklahoma City timeout and Wade was fouled. He made the first free throw, before the second went out of bounds off a Thunder player. After another foul, House converted both free throws to put the visitors ahead 108-103 to seal the win.

Durant scored 14 points in a fast-paced opening quarter to help the Thunder grab a 38-35 lead after 12 minutes.

James' free throw capped an 8-0 run to put the Heat in front 55-53 with just over three minutes to play in the half. He then drained two more at the stripe in the closing seconds to give Miami a 64-61 advantage heading into the locker room.

Durant finished off a back-and-forth third quarter with a free throw in the last second of play to deadlock the contest at 85-85 heading into the fourth.

House finished with five points for the Heat, who shot 52 percent from the field, including 8-of-18 from three-point range...Daequan Cook ended with 13 points before fouling out for Oklahoma City, which made 40.5 percent of its shots and also hit on 8-of-18 from beyond the arc.
