Bulls kick off road trip vs. Clippers at Staples Center

Feb 2, 2011 - 4:40 PM (Sports Network) - The Chicago Bulls are coming off a successful homestand and aim to stay on track tonight in the opener of a five-game western road trip against the Los Angeles Clippers at Staples Center.

The Bulls will also visit the Warriors, Blazers, Jazz and Hornets on the excursion, and own a 10-10 mark away from the Windy City this season. They have won five in a row and completed a six-game residency with Saturday's 110-89 victory over the Indiana Pacers behind Carlos Boozer's 24 points and 10 rebounds.

Derrick Rose added 20 points and seven assists and Luol Deng ended with 19 points, eight assists and six boards for Chicago, which improved to 23-6 in its last 29 games and 31-6 when holding opponents under 100 points.

"I thought we just starting playing a lot harder," said Bulls sharpshooter Kyle Korver, who had 16 points off the bench. "I think the ball really started to move. Everyone was really active. We had some good looks."

Bulls forward Taj Gibson (ankle) is probable for tonight's game.

Los Angeles is aiming to wrap up a three-game homestand on a perfect note tonight with the Bulls in town, and recorded its second straight win with Monday's 105-98 decision over the Milwaukee Bucks.

Blake Griffin muscled his way to the 39th double-double of the season with 32 points and 11 rebounds and Randy Foye netted 20 points for the Clippers, who set an LA record with their ninth straight win at home. The franchise record for most home wins in a row is 11 set by the San Diego Clippers from February 15, 1979 - March 18, 1979.

"That's the best stat," Griffin said on NBA.com. "It's huge for us to protect our home court."

Baron Davis and DeAndre Jordan scored 18 and 16 points, respectively, for Los Angeles, which is 16-13 as the host and has won nine of 13 games overall. The Clippers will embark on a season-high 11-game trip following tonight's game.

LA beat Chicago, 100-99, at the United Center back on Dec. 18 when Griffin knocked down the deciding free throw with 42.5 seconds remaining and finished with 29 points and 12 rebounds. The Clippers have won three straight and seven of the last 10 matchups between the teams.

Chicago has lost seven of its last 10 at the Clippers.
