Streaking Heat host resurgent Pacers in Miami
Feb 8, 2011 - 3:57 PM (Sports Network) - The star-studded Miami Heat are healthy again and will be shooting for their seventh straight win Tuesday, when they welcome the Indiana Pacers to south Florida."Miami Thrice" came up big in the Heat's latest win on Sunday. Dwyane Wade poured in a game-high 28 points and added eight rebounds and eight assists as Miami used a solid fourth quarter to top the Los Angeles Clippers, 97-79, at AmericanAirlines Arena.
"Finally in the second half we got it going," Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said. "We put together a little bit more of a complete half."
Fellow All-Stars Chris Bosh and LeBron James also flourished. Bosh finished with 16 points and seven boards, while "King" James supplied 12 points, six boards and four assists for the Heat, who have won seven of eight overall. Eddie House contributed 15 points in a reserve role.
"It's all about team wins," James said. "We had 30-plus points off the bench."
The Pacers, meanwhile, stayed undefeated under interim head coach Frank Vogel with a 105-86 rout over the New Jersey Nets at the Prudential Center.
Dahntay Jones came off the bench to lead a balanced attack, finishing with a game-high 18 points for Indiana, which is 4-0 since Vogel took over the reins from the fired Jim O'Brien.
Mike Dunleavy hit 5-of-6 from three-point range and contributed 17 points for the Pacers, who have won five of their last six overall. Indiana has also dominated the Nets of late, winning six straight and nine of the last 10 matchups.
Paul George chipped in 14 points and six rebounds in a reserve role, while Danny Granger and Roy Hibbert each poured in 11 points in the victory.
"We've always been an unselfish team," Granger said. "We're making plays to get other people shots and that's helping us."
Indiana snapped a four-game skid to Miami with a 93-77 rout of the Heat in south Florida back on Nov. 22. The Pacers still have lost seven of nine games in Miami.
