Howard, Orlando top Clippers

Feb 9, 2011 - 5:05 AM Orlando, FL (Sports Network) - Dwight Howard finished with 22 points and 20 rebounds as the Magic used a strong fourth quarter to top the Clippers, 101-85, at Amway Center.

Jameer Nelson added 17 points as six players scored in double figures for the Magic, who have won nine straight against the Clippers. Ryan Anderson contributed 13 points and five boards, while J.J. Redick added 12 points and six boards in a reserve role.

"It would be great to blow a team out every night, but tonight we didn't shoot the ball very well," Anderson said. "We had to get ourselves back into a groove."

Earl Clark and Jason Richardson both supplied 10 points for Orlando, which has won two of three.

Baron Davis paced the Clippers with a game-high 25 points alongside eight assists and eight boards. Blake Griffin was held to 10 points and 12 boards, while Ike Diogu scored 18 off the bench for Los Angeles, which has dropped four straight and is 0-3 on an 11-game road swing.

"We came out a few times with too many jumpers, not enough ball movement" Clippers coach Vinny Del Negro said. "We got very stagnant."

After the teams traded baskets to open the fourth, the Magic used a 12-0 run to take control. Clark's dunk with 7:01 capped the rally to give Orlando an 82-70 lead.

The Clippers responded with a Randy Foye three-pointer on their next possession, but Anderson then connected on one of the five three-pointers the Magic made in the quarter.

Redick and Anderson made back-to-back threes moments later, giving Orlando a 91-78 advantage with 4:17 left, and the Magic's lead never fell below 11 down the stretch.

The Clippers shot 47.4 percent in the first quarter to take a 23-21 lead. An identical second quarter gave Los Angeles a 46-42 edge at the break.

In the third, Davis paced the Clippers with 10 points. However, the Magic outscored Los Angeles 24-19 and carried a 66-65 lead into the fourth.
