Surging Pacers visit slumping Bucks

Feb 12, 2011 - 4:02 PM (Sports Network) - The surging Indiana Pacers hope to snap a six-game skid against Central Division rival Milwaukee when the two teams clash at Bradley Center on Saturday.

The Pacers have taken off since interim coach Frank Vogel took the reins from the unpopular Jim O'Brien nearly two weeks ago. Indiana won for the sixth time in seven games under Vogel on Friday when Dahntay Jones scored all of his season-high 19 points in the fourth quarter to lead the Pacers to a 116-105 come-from-behind win over Minnesota at Conseco Fieldhouse.

Jones connected on 6-of-7 from the floor, including both three-point attempts, while Danny Granger supplied 19 points and six rebounds for the Pacers, who are now two games ahead of Charlotte for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

"I praise our point guards in getting the ball to me in a way that I could score," Jones said. "I just took the open shot and felt pretty good when it was released. We had to be scrappy for the whole game and we were extremely scrappy and tough in the fourth quarter."

Mike Dunleavy added 15 points, Tyler Hansbrough chipped in 14, and Josh McRoberts contributed 12 for Indiana, which has won five in a row at home.

The Bucks, meanwhile, have been slumping and lost for the sixth time in seven tries on Friday in Memphis when Mike Conley finished with 23 points, eight assists and five rebounds, as the Grizzlies pulled out an 89-86 victory over Milwaukee.

Corey Maggette paced the Bucks with 22 points. John Salmons added 18 with six assists and five boards, while Brandon Jennings scored 16 for Milwaukee, which is 3 1/3 games behind the Pacers. Andrew Bogut grabbed a game-high 14 rebounds in the loss.

"We had our opportunities," said Milwaukee head coach Scott Skiles. "We played well enough to get a nice lead, and then we couldn't sustain it."
