Durant, Thunder take on Warriors in Oakland

Feb 13, 2011 - 3:57 PM (Sports Network) - The Northwest Division-leading Oklahoma City Thunder will shoot for their fifth straight win as the visitor when they finish a brief two-day trek through California against the Golden State Warriors.

Oklahoma City survived in Sacramento last night when Kevin Durant scored 35 points and the Thunder overcame his two missed free throws in the final seconds to hold off the Kings, 99-97, at Arco Arena.

Russell Westbrook added 22 points and seven assists for Oklahoma City, which bounced back from an overtime loss to Memphis on Tuesday. The Thunder, winners in four of five contests overall, moved to 15-3 this season in games played immediately after a loss.

"As a team we let up a little bit on the defensive end," Durant said. "We're up 12 with three, four minutes to go and we let up. It's not a good sign. I think you can't take away what we did all night on the defensive end, closing the paint up, forcing them to take some tough shots. It was a good all around game for us."

The Warriors, meanwhile, have lost two of their past three games, both to Phoenix. On Thursday Steve Nash scored 18 points with 11 assists and the Suns used a huge run spanning the first and second half Thursday to capture an easy 112-88 victory over Golden State.

The Suns also won their previous game in Golden State on Monday despite nearly blowing a 23-point lead in the second half. In between the Warriors went on to beat Denver, wrapping up a 4-4 homestand that was their longest of the season. But, they fell again to the Suns in the desert despite five players scoring in double figures. Ekpe Udoh and Reggie Williams led the way with 16 points apiece off the bench and Stephen Curry scored 12.

"We were a tired team on the floor and we didn't have what we needed," said Warriors head coach Keith Smart.

The Thunder have won four of five over Golden State, including a 114-109 win in OKC back on Dec. 5.
