Fading Jazz visit surging Pacers

Feb 25, 2011 - 4:17 PM (Sports Network) - The Utah Jazz will resume a three-game road trip tonight and hope to have some of their new players in uniform against an upstart Indiana Pacers squad at Conseco Fieldhouse.

The Jazz dealt All-Star point guard Deron Williams to New Jersey on Wednesday in exchange for Devin Harris, Derrick Favors, two first-round draft picks and cash, then dropped a 118-99 decision in Dallas to kick off the trek.

Al Jefferson finished with 30 points and eight rebounds for Utah, which has lost five in a row and fell to 0-4 under interim head coach Tyrone Corbin. Paul Millsap had 18 points and Andrei Kirilenko netted 17 in defeat.

"That's Deron Williams. You're going to miss a lot," Millsap said. "That's 20 points, 10 assists that you are going to miss. But we've got guys that are coming in that will help us out in that area. We're just trying to get back on the right path right now."

Utah has lost two in a row on the road and is 14-14 away from Salt Lake City this season. It will also visit Detroit on the current road swing.

Indiana will continue a four-game homestand Friday and opened the residency with Wednesday's 102-101 triumph versus the Pistons. Tyler Hansbrough provided 21 points and 12 rebounds off the bench, while Brandon Rush put the Pacers ahead for good on a dunk with 5.4 seconds remaining. Rush had nine points.

"They're not all going to be pretty," said Pacers interim head coach Frank Vogel, who improved to 9-3 since taking over for Jim O'Brien. "Sometimes you have to grind it out to get the W."

Danny Granger scored 18 points in Indiana's 10th win in 14 tries. The Pacers will also host Phoenix and Golden State, and are 16-12 at home in 2010-11.

Utah handed the Pacers a 110-88 setback at EnergySolutions Arena back on Dec. 1 this season thanks to 24 points and 16 assists from Williams. The Jazz have won five of the last six meetings with Indiana.
