Warriors and Pacers square off in Indy

Mar 1, 2011 - 3:57 PM (Sports Network) - The Indiana Pacers aim to right the ship tonight, when they host the Golden State Warriors in the finale of a four-game homestand from Conseco Fieldhouse.

The Pacers are coming off a gut-wrenching 110-108 overtime loss to the Phoenix Suns in which Channing Frye buried the game-winning jumper at the buzzer. Danny Granger had a team-best 25 points and A.J. Price provided 18 off the bench for Indiana, which has dropped two straight and four of six games.

Indiana is 1-2 on the homestand and 16-14 as the host.

"A very tough loss," Pacers interim head coach Frank Vogel said. "The first half our transition defense and pick and roll defense weren't good enough. We really played a good second half particularly in the fourth quarter. Channing Frye hit a great shot. It was well defended."

Vogel is 9-5 since taking over for Jim O'Brien at the end of January.

Indiana is currently eighth in the Eastern Conference standings -- just a half-game ahead of Charlotte.

Golden State has lost three in a row since a three-game winning streak and opened a seven-game road trip on a sour note, losing by a 126-123 score in Minnesota on Sunday. Kevin Love notched his 46th consecutive double-double with 37 points and 23 rebounds to dominate.

Stephen Curry posted 33 points and a career-high 11 rebounds for the Warriors, who fell to 7-19 away from Oakland. Dorell Wright had 26 points and both David Lee and Monta Ellis netted 20 in defeat.

"We didn't play well in the third quarter," Lee said. "We couldn't get any offense and we couldn't back anyone on defense."

The Warriors will also visit the Wizards, Celtics, Sixers, Cavs and Nets, and have lost three straight as the guest.

Golden State defeated Indiana, 110-108, on Jan. 19 at ORACLE Arena and has won three of the last four meetings in this series. The Warriors, however, have lost three in a row and 14 of 18 contests at the Pacers.
