Thunder dominate Wizards

Mar 15, 2011 - 4:27 AM Washington, DC (Sports Network) - Kevin Durant, the league's leading scorer, poured in 32 points, as the Northwest Division-leading Thunder dominated the Wizards, 116-89.

Russell Westbrook added 18 points and 12 assists for Oklahoma City, which has won four in a row and seven of eight overall. Daequan Cook made a career-high tying six three-pointers en route to 18 points.

James Harden recorded 16 points for the Thunder, who went 12-of-21 from beyond the arc.

"This was a good all-around win for us tonight," said Thunder head coach Scott Brooks. "We moved the ball well on offense, a lot of good passes. Kevin (Durant) and DC (Daequan Cook) shot well but that was because we made good passes to get them open. And the defense was good tonight too."

Center Kendrick Perkins played 20 minutes in his Oklahoma City debut, recording six points and nine boards. Perkins, who was acquired in a four- player trade with Boston on February 24, missed his first nine games with the Thunder due to a sprained knee.

JaVale McGee, John Wall and Trevor Booker each had 14 points for the Wizards, who have dropped four straight and 11 of 12 overall. Jordan Crawford and Kevin Seraphin added 12 points apiece in defeat.

The Thunder scored the first eight points of the game and never looked back.

The Wizards actually got within three, 13-10, on McGee's layup with 6 1/2 minutes left. Oklahoma City, though, responded with a 7-0 flurry to build a 10-point margin.

The Thunder went 8-of-8 from the foul line in the first quarter en route to a 33-24 edge.

Oklahoma City used an 11-2 run early in the second period to create some distance. Cook's three-pointer made it 46-30 with 6:46 to go.

The Thunder led by as many as 23 in the second and took a 68-47 margin into the locker room.

The visitors built an 86-58 lead on Durant's trey with 5:16 remaining in the third. Oklahoma City took a 95-70 lead into the fourth.

The Thunder cruised to victory over the final 12 minutes.

"There's no reason why we shouldn't play hard all the time," Booker said.
