Hot Hansbrough leads Pacers into Boston
Mar 16, 2011 - 2:57 PM (Sports Network) - The Boston Celtics haven't been playing all that well lately and aim to get back on track tonight at home versus the Indiana Pacers from TD Garden.Boston has lost three of four games since winning five in a row and is coming off Monday's 88-79 loss in New Jersey. Ray Allen had 19 points, Kevin Garnett notched 18 points and eight rebounds and Glen Davis supplied 16 points and 14 rebounds for the Atlantic Division-leading Celtics, who lost grip of the top spot in the East and now sit a half-game behind surging Chicago.
"This league is about runs and they made a big run on us," said Garnett. "When they needed shots they made them and we couldn't get a stop on them."
Paul Pierce had only seven points in a losing effort. The Celtics will try and improve on their 28-6 home record Wednesday night.
Indiana just swept the New York Knicks in a home-and-home series and registered a 119-117 victory on Tuesday at Conseco Fieldhouse behind Danny Granger's game-winning shot at the buzzer.
Granger, who sat out Sunday's win over New York at Madison Square Garden with the flu, buried a jumper with only three-tenths of a second to go for the Pacers, winners in back-to-back games since a six-game slide.
"I held it as long as I thought I could and I got a good look," Granger said. "My main priority was to get the last shot."
Tyler Hansbrough led Indiana with 30 points, while Granger and Darren Collison scored 26 and 24 points, respectively, in a winning effort. Hansbrough has scored 20 or more points in five straight games, averaging 25.2 ppg in that span.
The Pacers will try to improve on their 11-23 road record tonight.
Boston has beaten Indiana twice already this season and is unbeaten in the previous four matchups between the two clubs. The Celtics are 10-2 in the past 12 meetings with the Pacers, losers in six straight and 14 of 18 games in Beantown.
