Magic host Nets at Amway Center

Mar 25, 2011 - 3:13 PM (Sports Network) - The playoff-bound Orlando Magic hope to continue their recent run when they entertain the New Jersey Nets in Central Florida.

The fourth seed in the Eastern Conference playoff hunt, Orlando has won four straight games after Wednesday's 111-99 victory in Madison Square Garden against the New York Knicks. Dwight Howard finished with 33 points and 11 rebounds in that one as Orlando used a strong fourth quarter to top New York.

Hedo Turkoglu added 16 points and 11 boards while Jameer Nelson posted 19 points in the win, the Magic's fifth in six games overall as they improved to a season-high 20 games over .500. Brandon Bass scored 15 with seven caroms and Jason Richardson rounded out the Magic's starters with 12 points and six rebounds.

The Magic have won six straight over New York and have topped the Knicks in four consecutive visits to MSG.

"I thought in the second half our defense was very, very good," said Orlando head coach Stan Van Gundy. "They had some shots that they could make, but we didn't give them too much easy stuff."

The Nets, meanwhile, snapped a four-game skid by taking the opener of a three- game road trip in Cleveland on Wednesday when Kris Humphries scored 18 points and was a dominant factor on the boards, collecting a career-high 23 rebounds, in New Jersey's 98-94 overtime win against the Cavs.

Sasha Vujacic and Brook Lopez each added 18 points for the Nets, who also snapped a five-game road losing streak. Travis Outlaw chipped in 17 points in the win and Jordan Farmar added 10 points and 10 assists.

"The guys battled," Nets head coach Avery Johnson said. "We didn't have anything going offensively but they battled."

New Jersey, which will finish its trek in Atlanta on Saturday, lost guard Sundiata Gaines left in the second quarter of the game with a hip injury. The Nets were already without star point guard Deron Williams because of a wrist injury.

Orlando has won six straight and 10 of its last 11 meetings with New Jersey and will be attempting to sweep the season series between the two clubs for a second straight campaign.
