Bulls and Bucks clash at Bradley Center
Mar 26, 2011 - 2:39 PM (Sports Network) - The resurgent Milwaukee Bucks will try to avoid a season sweep at the hands of the Eastern Conference's top team, the Chicago Bulls, on Saturday.Milwaukee has won three of four after Friday's 102-96 win at New York and is now two games behind Indiana for the eighth and final playoff spot in the East. Brandon Jennings finished with a season-high 37 points against the slumping Knicks.
Andrew Bogut added 21 points and 17 rebounds while Luc Mbah a Moute scored 12 for Milwaukee, which is aiming to reach consecutive postseasons for the first time since 2003 and 2004.
"The main thing is that we have to take care of our own business," said Jennings after the game. "Tomorrow we play against Chicago, a team that is No. 1 and has the MVP on their team. We have to go there and take care of business."
"We've just got to stay with it," swingman John Salmons added.
On the injury front, Bucks guard Michael Redd could play for the first time on Saturday since shredding his left knee back on Jan. 10, 2010.
The red-hot Bulls won their 14th straight home game on Friday with a thrilling 99-96 win over the Memphis Grizzlies. Derrick Rose, the MVP candidate Jennings was speaking of, scored 24 points and recorded a key three-point play with 10.8 seconds remaining in that one.
Rose also pulled down seven rebounds and dished out seven assists for the Bulls, who hold a two-game lead over the Celtics for the top spot in the East.
Luol Deng added 23 points and six boards for Chicago, which has won three in a row and 11 of 12 overall. Carlos Boozer donated 12 points and nine rebounds.
"We did a good job of winning the game at the end," Boozer said. "We wanted it more."
The Bulls have already taken three straight over the Bucks this season after losing three of four to them in 2009-10.
