Bucks make important stop at Indiana
Apr 1, 2011 - 3:17 PM (Sports Network) - If Milwaukee hopes to make a push for the Eastern Conference's final playoff spot, the Bucks better get started tonight at Conseco Fieldhouse against the Indiana Pacers.Milwaukee is currently 10th in the East, three games behind the Pacers -- two in the loss column -- with eight games left in its season. The Bucks are also two games south of ninth place Charlotte.
Milwaukee stayed alive Wednesday with a 104-98 road win in Toronto. Brandon Jennings scored 25 points and handed out seven assists, while Drew Gooden matched a season-high 22 points and added 11 rebounds off the bench in the Bucks' much-needed victory.
Andrew Bogut posted 17 points and 10 boards and Carlos Delfino netted 14 points for Milwaukee, which had lost three of four coming in.
"I thought the guy that hurt us was Gooden," Raptors head coach Jay Triano said. "That's why you can't double-team Bogut. As soon as you bring another guy, he's going to find shooters."
Gooden was toiling in just his second game since missing 32 with plantar fascitis in his left foot.
Indiana kept pace with its own win Wednesday, a 111-101 home triumph over Detroit.
Darren Collison had 20 points in that one while Danny Granger chipped in 17 points and Josh McRoberts had 15 and 13 rebounds to help the Pacers improve to 2-0 on a current three-game homestand.
Mike Dunleavy, who missed the previous 19 games with a broken thumb, returned to post nine points in 19 minutes in the win.
"It was good to be back on the floor and be competing," Dunleavy said. "It was a good win for us. We must play every game as if it is the last one."
Milwaukee had won six straight over Indiana until the Pacers won in the Badger State back on Feb. 12.
