Conley leads Grizzlies over Pacers

Mar 23, 2014 - 3:46 AM Memphis, TN (SportsNetwork.com) - Mike Conley scored 21 points and the Memphis Grizzlies beat the Indiana Pacers, 82-71, on Saturday.

Zach Randolph had 18 points and 13 rebounds, Mike Miller scored 13 points off the bench and Marc Gasol played through a Grade 1 ankle sprain to donate 10 points and nine boards.

"That's as complete a win as we've had all season," Memphis head coach David Joerger said. "I think that's the best performance we've had all season from start to finish for 48 minutes."

The Grizzlies held Indiana to 27-of-74 (36.5 percent) shooting, snapping their three-game losing streak in the series.

Lance Stephenson tallied 15 points and eight rebounds and David West scored 10 for the Pacers, winners in five of six entering the contest.

"I did feel like they had a better energy to start this game off," Indiana's Paul George said of the Grizzlies.

Memphis jumped out to an 11-3 lead in the early going, holding Indiana to just a Stephenson triple over the first few minutes. The Pacers regrouped and trailed by just two, 19-17, after Evan Turner's pull-up jumper late in the opening frame.

Miller came alive early in the second, hitting three 3-pointers in a 4 1/2 minute stretch. Miller's fourth trey of the period at 4:21 gave Memphis a 39-28 lead. It was 43-30 at halftime.

The Grizzlies lead hovered between 11 and 15 during the entire third period and into the fourth, when Turner's 3-ball finally got Indiana within 10, 66-56, at 9:22.

But Memphis kept the foot on the gas, with Tony Allen throwing down an alley- oop from Conley out of a timeout. The margin never dipped back into single digits.
