Streaks on line as Spurs clash with 76ers

The Spurs haven't lost since Feb. 21 in Phoenix and recently swept a three- game western trip. This hot streak has sent San Antonio to the best record in the Western Conference by two games over the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Spurs have clinched a playoff berth for the 16th consecutive season.
On Saturday, without the services of Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili, who both sat to rest, the Spurs dispatched the Golden State Warriors, 99-90, at Oracle Arena.
Tony Parker scored 20 points and Danny Green added 18 to lead the Spurs. Tiago Splitter added 17 points and 14 rebounds, Kawhi Leonard scored 16 and Marco Belinelli finished with 15 points for San Antonio.
"Everybody stepped up," Parker said. "When somebody's not playing, it's just other guys who will do it. And we trust each other."
The Spurs shot a measly 39.3 percent from the field on Saturday.
On the completely opposite end of the spectrum are the 76ers, who have dropped 24 in a row, which is clearly a franchise-record and just two away from the NBA mark for consecutive games of a futility.
After the Spurs on Monday, the Sixers visit the Houston Rockets on Thursday in an effort to avoid matching the Cleveland Cavaliers' record for longest losing streak from the 2010-11 season.
Philadelphia entered Saturday's game with Chicago tied for the second-longest single-season losing skid in NBA history with Vancouver (1995-96), Denver (1997-98) and Charlotte (2011-12).
The slide reached 24 games with a 91-81 road loss to the Bulls.
Thaddeus Young scored a game-high 28 points and Henry Sims netted 18 with a career-high 15 rebounds in the setback. They were the only two Sixers in double figures for a team that hasn't scored over 100 points in the last seven games.
"We're going to get over the hump," said Young. "We have to figure out ways to make shots at crucial moments of the game and execute, go out there and be ready."
The Sixers, who've dropped 10 straight on the road, haven't won since a buzzer-beating victory in Boston over the Celtics on Jan. 29. Evan Turner scored the winning bucket and he's now a member of the Indiana Pacers.
That victory came before not only the Super Bowl, but also before the opening ceremonies of the Sochi Winter Olympics.
The Spurs have won five straight over the Sixers and nine in a row as the host in this series. San Antonio has actually taken 25 of the last 26 meetings in Alamo City against Philly.
