Sixers host Bobcats

Apr 2, 2014 - 2:28 PM (SportsNetwork.com) - Al Jefferson and the Charlotte Bobcats will play in the City of Brotherly Love Wednesday night, when they take on the Philadelphia 76ers at Wells Fargo Center.

The Bobcats are closing in on just their second playoff berth in franchise history and sit seventh in the East -- two games behind Washington.

Charlotte has alternated wins and losses over the past six games and recorded a 100-94 triumph Monday versus the Wizards. Kemba Walker tallied 21 points, 10 assists and five rebounds, while Jefferson, the Eastern Conference Player of the Month for March, netted 19 points with 11 rebounds for the Bobcats, who used a 19-4 run late in the game to take over.

The Bobcats scored 30 of the 44 points in the fourth quarter.

"I think we showed we have a lot of fight in that locker room. Things didn't go our way in the first half, we didn't have good readiness in the second quarter, they played great. We didn't quit, we fought back and obviously it was a good win," said Bobcats head coach Steve Clifford.

Cody Zeller finished with 15 points in the win.

Walker has scored 20 or more points in five straight and seven of eight games. Jefferson is posting an average of 22.3 points and 10.9 rebounds in his last seven games with five double-doubles in that span.

Charlotte has scored 100-plus points four times in the last five games and owns a 14-22 road record this season. It is 23-5 this season when scoring 100 or more points.

Philadelphia's win over Detroit was short-lived, as the team fell back into the loss column with Monday's 103-95 setback to the Atlanta Hawks.

Thaddeus Young made five 3-pointers en route to 23 points for the Sixers, who beat the Pistons on Saturday to snap an NBA record-tying 26-game losing streak. James Anderson and Michael Carter-Williams scored 19 and 16 points, respectively, with Carter-Williams adding nine boards and nine assists.

"They were just more aggressive," Young said. "They got into us defensively. The aggressive nature of the game rose and we just didn't execute towards the end."

The 76ers snapped an 18-game home losing streak versus Detroit and are just 4-37 since a season-high four-game win streak from Dec. 29 - Jan. 4.

Philadelphia and Charlotte have split two games this season with each team holding serve as the host. The Sixers have won seven of nine against the Bobcats, who have dropped six in a row and 12 of 14 trips to south Philly.
