Hot-shooting Nets down Pistons

Apr 5, 2014 - 4:32 AM Brooklyn, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Shaun Livingston had 23, Mirza Teletovic scored 20 off the bench and the Brooklyn Nets shot the lights out in a 116-104 win over the Detroit Pistons on Friday.

The playoff-bound Nets were 15-of-31 on 3-pointers -- Teletovic went 6-for-10 -- and shot 60.5 percent overall for their fourth win in five games. They have won 15 in a row at home, extending the franchise record.

Paul Pierce added 17 points in the win and Marcus Thornton and Andray Blatche combined to score 29 off the bench.

"We're just comfortable in our own building," Pierce said of the Nets' success at home. "Obviously, that's where most teams in the league play well. You have momentum, you have your own crowd, you have a better feel for spots on the court and this is where you're comfortable."

Andre Drummond had 23 points and 18 rebounds to lead the Pistons, who fell to 2-10 in their last 12 games overall and 1-16 in their last 17 on the road.

"We didn't make (the Nets) make multiple passes for their buckets," Pistons head coach John Loyer said. "They made one, maybe two for their buckets and they have too good of players to do that."

The Nets led by as many as 22 and beat the Pistons for the first time in four meetings this season.

Brooklyn had four 22-point leads, including a 91-69 advantage going into the fourth quarter.

The Pistons made one last push with a 16-3 run led by five points apiece from Jonas Jerebko and Rodney Stuckey, drawing them within nine, but the Nets scored seven straight after that and their lead was never in single digits again.

There were four lead changes in the first quarter and five ties -- including the score at the buzzer, which was 22-22. But the Nets shot better than 68 percent in the second quarter to build a double-digit lead.

The Nets opened the second with a 15-4 run keyed by Teletovic's two 3-pointers and capped by a Deron Williams three to make it 37-26.

Overall, the Nets scored 29 of the first 38 points in the quarter to build a 20-point advantage. The Pistons cut it to nine, but trailed 57-45 at halftime.
