Clippers host Kings in LA matinee

(SportsNetwork.com) - The Los Angeles Clippers will resume a five-game homestand Saturday afternoon versus the Sacramento Kings.

The Clippers are 1-2 on the homestand and have alternated wins and losses over the past four games. In Wednesday's 107-101 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder, Blake Griffin led the Clippers with 30 points and 12 rebounds, while Chris Paul added 25 points and eight assists.

"We didn't play very well," Clippers head coach Doc Rivers said. "We didn't have any kind of rhythm. At the end we had our chances, but we got in the way of ourselves tonight."

Los Angeles is third in the Western Conference standings and 32-7 at home. The 32 wins at home are the most since compiling the same amount last season.

The Clippers will close the homestand on Tuesday versus Denver and will visit Portland on Wednesday to close out the regular season.

Sacramento has lost four in a row and seven of its last nine games, including Wednesday's 100-99 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers. Blazers forward Dorell Wright hit the go-ahead 3-pointer with 7.6 seconds to go for the win.

DeMarcus Cousins had 30 points and 12 rebounds, Ray McCallum added 23 points and Ben McLemore rounded out the double-digit scorers with 16 points.

McCallum missed a step-back jumper from the top of the key at the horn.

"We didn't get a great shot, didn't get great execution on that last play, but a great opportunity for Ray to make a play," Kings coach Michael Malone said.

Cousins has posted six straight double-doubles and McCallum is averaging 14.4 points and 45.1 minutes in his last nine starts. He has been filling in for injured guard Isaiah Thomas, who has missed the last nine games with a quad contusion.

The Kings have lost six of their last seven road games and are 11-29 as the visitor this season. They will close the season at home versus Minnesota and Phoenix.

Kings forward Rudy Gay (back) is questionable Saturday and is averaging 20.5 points since joining the team via trade with Toronto in December.

Sacramento has lost the first three meetings with the Pacific-rival Clippers, who have won four in a row and nine of the last 10 games in this series. The Clippers are 12-2 in the past 14 meetings between the teams.

The Kings have lost six straight at the Clippers.
