Celtics end road skid with win in Cleveland

Apr 13, 2014 - 4:02 AM Cleveland, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - Kelly Olynyk and Avery Bradley each scored 25 points and the Boston Celtics snapped a 13-game road skid with a 111-99 drubbing of the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday.

Olynyk also pulled down 12 rebounds, while Bradley made five of Boston's 12 3- pointers. Jeff Green and Brandon Bass contributed 19 points apiece and Phil Pressey handed out 13 assists for the Celtics, who won back-to-back games for the first time in over a month.

Saturday was the penultimate game for the Cavs, but they played like their season was already over as they hit just 31.8 percent of their shots over the first three quarter.

"We have to do a better job of battling human nature and not allowing that to impact our effort," said Cavs center Spencer Hawes, who did not score after opening the game with a 3-pointer.

Kyrie Irving, Dion Waiters and Jarrett Jack all scored 15 points in the club's fourth loss in its last five games.

The Celtics rolled to the easy win despite playing only eight players.

"We were shorthanded as far as bodies go, but all eight guys were pretty good and were locked in tonight," Celtics coach Brad Stevens said.

They led by a dozen, 19-7, less than six minutes in behind seven points from Olynyk and brought a 28-18 cushion into the second.

An Irving 3-pointer had the Cavs within seven, 45-38, but Boston went on a 15-4 run over the final three minutes of the half, with Olynyk's layup just before the buzzer yielding a 60-42 advantage.

The margin grew to 26 when Bradley hit from long range to cap an 8-0 run to start the third, and it was an 89-58 difference at the end of stanza.

The spread went as high as 33 in the fourth.
