Blazers back home for meeting with Nets

Nov 15, 2014 - 3:26 PM (SportsNetwork.com) - The Portland Trail Blazers return home with a three-game winning streak Saturday night when the Brooklyn Nets pay a visit to the Moda Center.

The Blazers have won three straight, including a pair at home. They will also host the New Orleans Pelicans and Chicago Bulls on this homestand before heading east.

Portland made history in its most recent victory, a 130-113 drubbing of the Denver Nuggets at the Pepsi Center on Wednesday.

The Blazers scored 39 points in the first quarter and 45 in the second, matching a franchise record for points in a second quarter set back in 1973. They were just the third team since 1992 to score at least 84 points in a first half and the first to do so on the road since 1991.

"It feels great," said point guard Damian Lillard. "You want to get out in transition, you want to play unselfish, you want to make shots, you want to defend. I think we did all of those things as well as we've done it all season, especially for an entire half."

Lillard had 27 points and nine assists. Robin Lopez netted 15 of his 19 points in the first half and LaMarcus Aldridge had nine of his 12, while blocking six shots in just over 18 first-half minutes. Aldridge finished one block shy of his career-high, set in 2010 against Denver.

Chris Kaman and C.J. McCollum went for 16 and 15 points, respectively, in reserve roles, as Portland won for the fifth time in its last six games.

The Nets will close out a three-game western trek and Saturday's game is their only hope for a win. Brooklyn fell by eight in Phoenix on Wednesday, then lost, 107-99, to the Golden State Warriors on Thursday.

The Nets got 23 points from Jarrett Jack, who made all 10 of his shots off the bench, and 18 points apiece by Brook Lopez and Deron Williams, the reigning Eastern Conference Player of the Week. They shot just 3-of-16 from behind the arc.

Mason Plumlee finished with 13 in a reserve role and Joe Johnson contributed 12 on 5-for-12 shooting.

The Trail Blazers won both of last season's meetings and are 5-1 in their last six at home against the Nets. The Nets organization is just 6-33 all-time in Portland.
