Pacers beat Rose-less Bulls

Chicago, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - Solomon Hill had 21 points and 12 rebounds, while A.J. Price added 21 points off the bench as the Indiana Pacers defeated the Derrick Rose-less Chicago Bulls 99-90 on Saturday night.

Luis Scola posted 21 points and 11 boards for the Pacers, who have won three of their last four games on the heels of a six-game losing streak.

"We started the game well, we maintained the momentum, we got ahead on the scoreboard and never looked back," Scola said. "I think it was a complete game."

Jimmy Butler tallied 30 points and six rebounds for Chicago, which had a brief two-game winning streak snapped.

"I think we were low energy on offense and defense," Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau said.

Rose missed the game after tweaking his hamstring during Thursday's win in Toronto. He hasn't played in five contests in all this year due to ankle and hamstring issues.

Chicago fell to 3-2 without Rose in the lineup this season.

Pau Gasol sunk two free throws to pull the Bulls within 67-65 late in the third before the Pacers embarked on an 8-0 spurt that stretched into the fourth.

Hill's layup gave Indiana a 69-65 advantage heading into the final frame, and he nailed a 3-pointer to start the fourth. Price's three-point play capped it and increased the margin to 75-65.

An Aaron Brooks floater and a pair of Butler free throws got the Bulls back within 77-71 with 9:09 to play, but the Pacers responded by ripping off 11 straight points to put the game away.

Price netted seven points and hit two triples during the burst, including one to finish it off and stake Indiana to an 88-71 spread.

The Pacers cruised to the victory the rest of the way.

Earlier, Indiana led 23-20 after a quarter of play and 46-42 heading into the break.

The Pacers held a 46-34 rebounding advantage although Chicago outscored them in the paint 38-28 ... Chicago scored 23 points off 17 Indiana turnovers ... The Pacers shot 48.1 percent (37-of-77) from the floor.
