Nuggets down Thunder

Nov 20, 2014 - 6:19 AM Denver, CO (SportsNetwork.com) - Ty Lawson scored 15 points and dished out a season-high 15 assists as the Denver Nuggets dispatched the Oklahoma City Thunder, 107-100, on Wednesday night.

Wilson Chandler paced the Nuggets with 21 points and Timofey Mozgov netted 17 points with seven rebounds in the win.

"It's something to build on," said Nuggets coach Brian Shaw. "It's something to build on and we'll take it into next game.

Serge Ibaka went for 22 points and 13 rebounds in Oklahoma City's fourth straight setback, while Sebastian Telfair tallied 18 points off the bench and Reggie Jackson finished with 16 points and nine assists.

Telfair made all seven of his field goal attempts, while Jackson went 5-for-20 from the floor.

"I'm happy that we finally hit some shots," said Thunder head coach Scott Brooks. "That was good to see. The ball was moving throughout the game."

A Steven Adams three-point play cut the Thunder's deficit to four early in the third, but Arron Afflalo knocked a shot down at the other end to jumpstart a 17-6 run.

Chandler and Kenneth Faried each converted three-point plays to cap the spurt and give the Nuggets a 75-60 lead just past the midway point of the quarter.

A 15-6 run for Oklahoma City to begin the fourth cut its deficit to 96-89, then Ibaka made it a three-point game later with a 3-pointer.

Chandler and Afflalo followed with successive 3s to extend the margin to 107-98 with 1:42 remaining, helping the hosts win their second straight contest overall.

Denver led 27-26 after the first quarter and 54-49 at the half.
