Kings, Suns clash in Pacific showdown

Dec 26, 2014 - 3:26 PM (SportsNetwork.com) - The Phoenix Suns will try to extend their winning streak to a season high five straight games when they open a four-game road trip Friday against the Sacramento Kings.

The Suns are also slated to visit the Los Angeles Lakers, New Orleans Pelicans and Oklahoma City Thunder, and have won three in a row on the road. They are 9-7 as the guest this season.

Phoenix pushed its winning streak to four with Tuesday's 124-115 triumph versus the Dallas Mavericks, as Eric Bledsoe recorded his second triple-double of the season with 16 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds. Goran Dragic tallied 25 points and Gerald Green scored 22 off the bench.

"I thought we were great, offensively and defensively," Bledsoe said. "We can't ask for a better game."

The Suns scored 28 points off 20 Dallas turnovers and shot 45.4 percent. They are outscoring opponents 109.5-100.7 during the win streak.

Dragic is averaging 19.9 points in his last 11 games for the Suns.

Sacramento is back home for two games versus the Suns and New York Knicks, and is coming off Monday's 128-108 loss at Golden State.

DeMarcus Cousins scored 22 points, grabbed eight rebounds and handed out six assists, while Darren Collison posted 17 points and Omri Casspi ended with 16 for the Kings.

The Warriors shot 53.8 percent from the floor and posted 66 points in the paint.

"This is a good team on their home floor. They were rested," said Kings interim coach Tyrone Corbin. "We didn't come with the energy we need to compete against this type of team on their home floor."

The Kings have lost 11 of their last 14 games and are in the midst of playing 12 of 14 games in California's capital.

Cousins is averaging 26.0 points and 11.0 rebounds in three games since missing 10 straight because of viral meningitis. The Kings were 2-8 in his absence.

Sacramento defeated Phoenix, 114-112, in double overtime on Nov. 7 and Cousins ended with 25 points and 18 rebounds. Bledsoe had 23 points and eight assists in that one for Phoenix. The Kings and Suns will tangle again on Feb. 8 and March 25.
