Jennings, Pistons rout Knicks

Jan 3, 2015 - 5:19 AM New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Brandon Jennings had 16 of his 29 points in the third quarter and the Detroit Pistons routed the New York Knicks 97-81 on Friday night.

"I just wanted to open up the game in the third quarter and give us a comfortable lead," Jennings said.

Andre Drummond ripped down 20 rebounds, Greg Monroe posted 12 points and 10 boards and Jodie Meeks netted 15 points off the bench for the Pistons, who have won four in a row on the heels of a four-game losing streak.

"If you don't get offended by somebody scoring on you, I don't know what to tell you," Smith said of his team's defense.

The Pistons led 24-20 following a quarter of play, but they began to pull away in the second.

After Quincy Acy's jumper pulled New York within 29-27, Meeks bookended an 11-0 run with a layup and 3-pointer to stake Detroit to a 40-27 cushion midway through the frame.

Jennings drove in for a layup at the buzzer to give the Pistons a 57-38 halftime lead. He also nailed a triple in the waning seconds of the third for an 82-52 spread after three.
