Suns start road trip in Milwaukee

(SportsNetwork.com) - The Phoenix Suns embark on a four-game road trip, starting Tuesday night with a visit to the Bradley Center to face the Milwaukee Bucks.

Phoenix will also see the Minnesota Timberwolves, San Antonio Spurs and Memphis Grizzlies during this sojourn. The Suns have lost their last two as the visitor.

However, the Suns have won two straight overall, both coming at home. On Friday, they bested the Philadelphia 76ers, then dismantled one of the Eastern Conference's best teams, the Toronto Raptors.

On Sunday, Eric Bledsoe had 20 points and eight assists and the Suns routed the Raptors 125-109.

Goran Dragic posted 18 points and six rebounds and Isaiah Thomas netted 18 points to go with five steals off the bench for Phoenix, which has won eight of its last 10 games.

Archie Goodwin managed 12 points in just under nine minutes. Gerald Green scored 11 in a reserve role, while both Alex Len and Marcus Morris chipped in 10 apiece.

The Suns scored 30 points off 21 Toronto turnovers.

"They had the foot on the gas the whole night. If they play like that, we're going to win a ton of games and have a chance," Suns coach Jeff Hornacek said.

The Bucks have won three of four, but have dropped three consecutive home contests. Their last home victory came on Dec. 20 against the Los Angeles Clippers.

Last time out, Milwaukee handled the New York Knicks, 95-82, at Madison Square Garden.

Zaza Pachulia and Giannis Antetokounmpo each posted double-doubles for the Bucks. Pachulia had 16 points and 14 rebounds, while Antetokounmpo added 16 points and 12 boards for Milwaukee.

Brandon Knight put in a team-high 17 points in the triumph. Kendall Marshall chipped in 15 off the bench, while Johnny O'Bryant added 10 in the victory as the Bucks overcame 19 turnovers.

Milwaukee held a 48-36 rebounding edge and a 46-36 points in the paint advantage.

Head coach Jason Kidd was philosophical about beating his former team.

"They're going to get healthy and be better than what their record is," he said.

The Bucks beat the Suns in Phoenix on Dec. 15 to end a two-game series losing streak. The Suns are 6-2 in their last eight appearances in Brew City.
