Durant had 19 points, eight rebounds and eight assists, leading OKC to its third straight win despite shooting 0-for-8 from behind the arc and hurting his elbow on a fall early in the fourth quarter. Russell Westbrook had 19 points with 10 rebounds and six assists. Both Thunder stars also had four steals.
"We did a good job of playing together and running the offense," said Westbrook.
Reggie Jackson shot 7-for-9 for 16 points, including a 3-pointer that jump-started a 7-0 run late in the fourth to help the Thunder pull away.
Oklahoma City lost in both of its previous chances to move above .500, getting routed by Portland on opening night and the Warriors on Jan. 5.
Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh scored 18 and 16 points, respectively, in Miami's return home from a five-game road trip. The Heat go back on the road for eight of their next 12 games.
"We played hard enough for most stretches of the game, we just weren't sharp," said Miami coach Erik Spoelstra. "It was rough offensively for most of the night."
Hassan Whiteside scored 10 points in the first quarter for Miami before exiting in the second with an ankle injury.
Oklahoma City scored five of the last six points of the third quarter to break a 66-all tie. Neither team scored over the last 1:44 after Jackson's 3 until Anthony Morrow hit a jumper to open the fourth.
The lead reached nine a minute later on another Jackson jumper, but Miami trimmed its deficit to two over the next couple of minutes. Three times in the period the Heat found themselves down by two points, the final coming on Wade's long 2 with 3:38 to play.
Westbrook scored four in a row after Jackson answered Wade with another 3- ball, and the lead grew to 10 on a Steven Adams flush with 1:19 to play.
The Heat led most of the first quarter before Morrow hit a pair of 3s during an 11-2 Thunder run.
Neither team led by more than 10 over the course of the back-and-forth affair.
