Bulls search for answers in New Orleans

Feb 7, 2015 - 3:08 PM (SportsNetwork.com) - The Chicago Bulls are caught in a funk and look to get back on track Saturday against the New Orleans Pelicans.

The Bulls have lost three in a row and fell to 1-3 on a six-game road trip following a 101-90 loss at Houston on Wednesday.

Jimmy Butler scored 27 points, Derrick Rose added 23 and Pau Gasol finished with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Joakim Noah pulled down 19 boards for the Bulls, losers in 10 of the last 15 games.

Chicago shot a paltry 34.8 percent, but had a 60-47 advantage on the glass.

"We need to figure it out ... We got to keep fighting," Noah said.

Chicago has a 17-9 road record and will close the trip Sunday in Orlando.

The Pelicans are back home for three straight games after a thrilling 116-113 triumph at Oklahoma City Friday night.

Anthony Davis buried the game-winning 3-pointer at the buzzer and compiled 41 points and 10 rebounds for the Pelicans, who have won seven of the last nine games and avenged a loss at home on Wednesday to the Thunder.

"We knew what was at stake before the game," said Davis. "Coach put the board up there and it said, "If you don't want to be great, step aside and let someone else be great.'"

Tyreke Evans had a triple double of 22 points, 16 assists and 10 rebounds and Ryan Anderson scored 17 points in the victory.

New Orleans is 17-7 at home and will host Utah and Indiana next.

The Pelicans are 8-10 against Eastern Conference foes (6-1 at home) and suffered a 107-100 loss at Chicago on Dec. 27. Butler scored 33 points and Davis countered with 29 for the Pelicans, who defeated the Bulls twice last season, including a triple-overtime thriller on Dec. 2 at the United Center.
