Suns pay a visit to Kings

Feb 8, 2015 - 3:26 PM (SportsNetwork.com) - The Phoenix Suns are winless in their last four road assignments and will be in Sacramento Sunday night for a showdown with the Pacific-rival Kings.

The Suns are 13-13 on the road and ended a three-game slide with Friday's 100-93 victory over the Utah Jazz.

Marcus Morris had a career-high 34 points and 12 rebounds off the bench for his first double-double, Eric Bledsoe posted 15 points, six assists and four steals, and Markieff Morris added 12 points and eight boards for the Suns.

"Marcus was great tonight," Phoenix guard Goran Dragic said. "He gave us that extra lift that we needed."

Marcus Morris, who buried 5-of-7 3-pointers, became the first Suns player to have at least 30 points and 10 rebounds as a reserve since Danny Manning back in 1997.

Phoenix made 14-of-27 from beyond the arc versus Utah.

Bledsoe is averaging 18.3 points in his last 26 games for the Suns.

The Suns will return home Tuesday to host the Houston Rockets.

Sacramento looks to stop a six-game home losing streak Sunday and has a 10-17 record in California's capital city.

The Kings have dropped three in a row overall and 11 of their last 12 games, including Saturday's 102-90 setback in Utah. DeMarcus Cousins once again led the charge with 27 points and 10 rebounds, and Ben McLemore followed with 15 points. Rudy Gay had only four points in 29 minutes.

There's plenty of losing and distractions going on with the Kings.

"We have to come in everyday, block out the outside distractions and do our job. Be professional basketball players," Cousins said after reports surfaced that the Kings are interested in George Karl for their next coach.

Cousins has recorded 14 double-doubles in his last 15 games played (31 total).

Kings guard Darren Collison is nursing a hip strain and is questionable versus the Suns. Collison did not play against the Jazz and is posting an average of 16.1 points and 5.6 assists in his first stint with the Kings.

Sacramento will visit Chicago and Milwaukee next, and has split two games with Phoenix this season. The two Pacific foes will meet again March 25 in the Valley of the Sun.

The Suns have prevailed in three of the last four games against the Kings.
