Knicks, Magic close out first half in Orlando

Feb 11, 2015 - 3:02 PM (SportsNetwork.com) - The New York Knicks are guaranteed of finishing with a sub-.500 record and will close out their tour through Florida Wednesday versus the Orlando Magic at Amway Center.

The Knicks dropped to 10-42 on the season with Monday's 109-95 loss to the Heat in Miami and All-Star Carmelo Anthony paced the Knicks with 26 points before departing in the fourth quarter to get his left knee examined. Anthony has been bothered by the injury and is doubtful Wednesday.

"It was just one of those nights where it felt good, everything felt good, up until that point," said Anthony, who has missed 12 games already and will most likely rest Wednesday night for Sunday's All-Star Game.

Amare Stoudemire scored 14 points and Langston Galloway ended with 10 for the Knicks, losers in four straight after winning five of seven. The Knicks had a 32-23 lead after the first quarter against the Heat, but the hosts responded and later made it 98-84 with under four minutes remaining.

Heat power forward Chris Bosh scored 32 points, lifting the Heat to an 18-1 record all-time when he reaches the 30-point plateau. Miami scored 23 points on 15 New York turnovers.

The Knicks, who have lost four straight on the road and are 3-23 as the guest, will play two in a row at home versus Miami and Cleveland after the break.

Orlando is back home for the next four games and was just in Washington to face the Southeast-rival Wizards in DC. The Magic dropped a 96-80 decision at the Verizon Center on Monday and were led by Evan Fournier's 18 points off the bench.

Washington had a 31-19 scoring advantage in the third quarter and dominated the glass to the tune of 53-33.

"Give them credit. That is what they do every night, They outwork you, outrebound you, basically outplay you," Fournier noted.

Nikola Vucevic had 14 points and eight rebounds, Victor Oladipo scored 13 points and Elfrid Payton chipped in 11, six steals, five rebounds and five assists for the Magic, who have lost 12 of 13 and 18 of the past 21 games.

The Magic will also host New Orleans, Philadelphia and Miami, and are 6-18 at home this season. They are 2-10 in the last 12 games at home.

Tobias Harris did not play against the Wizards and is expected to miss Wednesday's game with a sore right knee. Harris is averaging 17.4 ppg this season.

Orlando and New York have split two meetings this season - both at Madison Square Garden - and will close the season series April 11.
