Snell, Bulls rout Bucks
Feb 24, 2015 - 4:41 AM Chicago, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - Tony Snell scored 20 points off the bench and the Chicago Bulls dominated on the glass in their 87-71 win over the offensively challenged Milwaukee Bucks on Monday.Snell posted his third 20-point game over his last five after just one such previous game in his career. Nikola Mirotic also played well as a reserve, tallying 16 points and 14 rebounds. Both players got extended minutes with sixth man Taj Gibson sitting with an illness.
Pau Gasol went for 15 points and 10 rebounds, Jimmy Butler netted 11 with nine boards and Joakim Noah grabbed a game-high 16 rebounds.
Chicago won the rebounding edge, 62-41.
"We hit the glass pretty well," said Noah.
Khris Middleton paced Milwaukee with 17 points and Ersan Ilyasova had 15 and 11 boards in a rare start. The Bucks shot 33.7 percent (30-for-89) from the floor and missed all but four of their 18 tries from behind the arc.
"It was not a hot shooting performance by either team," said Bucks coach Jason Kidd. "We had some great looks that just didn't go down for us."
Derrick Rose scored five points during a 7-0 run early in the contest that gave Chicago a lead that it would hold the rest of the game. Snell scored five during a 9-0 flurry later in the first, and the Bulls led 21-15 after one.
Chicago broke the game open early in the second quarter, as Snell's triple at 5:25 pushed the lead to 37-19.
Milwaukee never threatened the rest of the way.
