Redick, Clippers cruise past Timberwolves

Mar 10, 2015 - 5:52 AM Los Angeles, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - J.J. Redick scored 26 points and the Los Angeles Clippers topped the Minnesota Timberwolves 89-76 on Monday.

DeAndre Jordan finished with 20 points on 10-of-11 shooting and also pulled down 17 boards for the Clippers, who ended a two-game skid. Matt Barnes and Austin Rivers each netted 13 points in the win.

"The difference of the game was that we got some separation in the second quarter," said Redick. "We did a nice job on some of their guys."

Adreian Payne paced the Timberwolves with 16 points and 15 rebounds, while Nikola Pekovic supplied 12 points and 10 rebounds in defeat.

"Adreian was the one guy who played physical," Minnesota head coach Flip Saunders said. "We just didn't play with a lot of energy tonight."

Redick made three shots from beyond the arc in the opening minutes as the Clippers jumped out to an 11-6 lead. The Timberwolves, however, stormed back and Ricky Rubio's jumper tied the game at 25-25 after 12 minutes of play.

Nate Robinson and Rivers hit back-to-back triples to open an 11-0 run that was concluded on Rivers' three-point play for a 41-33 lead. The Clippers took a 48-39 lead into halftime.

In the third quarter, Jordan's alley-oop slam between a pair of Redick baskets staked Los Angeles to a 56-44 advantage. Spencer Hawes drained a 3-pointer and another alley-oop dunk from Jordan gave the Clippers a 12-point lead which they carried into the final frame.

A Hedo Turkoglu trey opened an 11-0 Los Angeles run that made it an 87-66 game and the Timberwolves never got closer than 13 points the rest of the way.
