Bledsoe, Suns pull away from Knicks

Mar 16, 2015 - 4:57 AM Phoenix, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) - Eric Bledsoe filled the stat sheet with 21 points, 11 assists and eight rebounds as the Phoenix Suns pulled away from the New York Knicks en route to a 102-89 victory on Sunday.

"It would have been great if I would have got it, but at the end of the day we won," Bledsoe said of a potential triple double.

Marcus Morris and brother Markieff added 20 and 14 points, respectively, while Brandan Wright provided 18 points and 11 rebounds for the victors.

The Suns are 2-2 on a five-game homestand that ends Thursday against the Pelicans. Both teams are chasing Oklahoma City for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference.

Andrea Bargnani and Alexey Shved both finished with 17 points for the league- worst Knicks, who went 1-4 on another disappointing road trip out west.

"We missed shots, inside and outside," Bargnani said.

New York actually led by 11 late in the first quarter, but a Marcus Morris 3- pointer in the closing seconds had the Suns within 29-23 at the end of one.

It was a 48-47 lead in the Knicks' favor at halftime, and a 9-0 Suns run in the early stages of the third quarter gave Phoenix the lead for good.

The Suns won the quarter 28-18 but did not fully pull away until their 13-2 spurt in the middle stages of the fourth provided plenty of cushion. Wright started the surge with a three-point play, and Marcus Morris capped it with a putback for a 96-80 advantage.
