Pistons rally past Grizzlies

Mar 18, 2015 - 4:21 AM Auburn Hills, MI (SportsNetwork.com) - Reggie Jackson had 23 points and a career-high 20 assists as the Detroit Pistons rallied for a 105-95 win over the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday night.

The Pistons trailed by as many as 17 points in the first half, but outscored the Grizzlies 66-39 over the final 24 minutes to overcome the deficit and snap a 10-game losing streak.

"We just attacked the basket in the second half, and we played a lot harder on defense," Pistons coach Stan Van Gundy said.

Andre Drummond posted 16 points and 16 rebounds and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope supplied a game-high 24 points for the Pistons.

Jeff Green netted 21 points and Marc Gasol supplied 17 points, 11 boards and six assists for Memphis, which has dropped three of its last five games.

"They hit shots, we stopped playing defense and Reggie got going," Memphis forward Zach Randolph said.

A Green 3-pointer with 5:09 left staked Memphis to a 90-88 edge before the Pistons pulled away with a 15-2 run. Jackson netted seven points during the surge, which was capped when a Tayshaun Prince jumper that gave Detroit a 101-92 advantage with 1:54 remaining.

The Grizzlies never got within less than eight the rest of the way.

Earlier, Memphis scored the final nine points of the first quarter as it jumped out to a 30-18 lead following the opening frame. They were up 54-39 at the break.

Caldwell-Pope poured in seven points during a 13-0 swing to tie the game late in the third. He knocked down a triple and a jumper on consecutive possessions to finish off the burst for a 73-73 game.

Memphis took a 76-75 edge into the final period.

Detroit snapped a six-game skid against Memphis at the Palace of Auburn Hills ... The Grizzlies, who hadn't lost to the Pistons since Oct. 28, 2009, have dropped four of their last five road games ... Detroit scored 22 points off 18 Memphis turnovers.
