Hornets, Bulls clash in Chicago

(SportsNetwork.com) - The Chicago Bulls are back home following a tough loss and look to bounce back Monday versus the Charlotte Hornets at the United Center.

The Bulls dropped a 107-91 decision against the Detroit Pistons on Saturday, as Pau Gasol recorded 27 points with 10 rebounds. Aaron Brooks and Taj Gibson scored 19 and 13 points, respectively, for the Bulls, who had a two-game win streak halted and lost for the sixth time in nine tries.

"You can't let your guard down in this league ... disappointing," Chicago coach Tom Thibodeau said.

Joakim Noah had 13 rebounds and dished out seven assists for Chicago.

Chicago is fourth in the East standings - a half-game behind Toronto and 1 1/2 games ahead of Washington.

The Bulls are 22-14 at home and will visit the Raptors on Wednesday.

Charlotte will close out a five-game road trip (1-3) Monday and stopped a three-game slide with Sunday's 109-98 triumph over the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Mo Williams poured in 24 points off the bench, while Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and Al Jefferson scored 18 points apiece for the Hornets, who won for only the second time in seven tries.

The Hornets shot 50.6 percent and Kemba Walker added 16 points.

"It felt good. The locker room felt good. We needed to win a game," Charlotte coach Steve Clifford said afterward.

Charlotte is eighth in the East standings - a half-game ahead of both Boston and Indiana - and 14-20 on the road.

The Hornets will host Brooklyn on Wednesday and are 2-1 against the Bulls this season. Chicago, though, is 11-4 in the past 15 games in this series.
