Bucks aim to move closer to postseason vs. Magic

Apr 4, 2015 - 1:45 PM (SportsNetwork.com) - The Milwaukee Bucks will try to inch closer to a coveted playoff spot when they entertain the Orlando Magic Saturday at Bradley Center.

The Bucks have Cleveland to host as well on this quick homestand and are 22-15 in Brew City this season.

Milwaukee is sixth in the Eastern Conference - four games ahead of Boston with six to play. Red-hot Brooklyn is 2 1/2 games behind the Bucks, who recorded a 110-101 road victory over the Celtics Friday night.

O.J. Mayo poured in 24 points on 9-of-13 shooting off the bench, Ersan Ilyasova added 17 and Khris Middleton scored 13 points with seven rebounds. Milwaukee shot 53 percent for the game to win for the fourth time in six tries following a six-game slide.

"Each game is really key and big for us," Bucks guard Michael Carter-Williams said. "We're really building. I'm glad to be a part of this team."

The Magic got off the schneid with a 97-84 victory at Minnesota Friday night and were led by a career-high 37 points with 17 rebounds by Nikola Vucevic.

"He was fantastic from the start," Orlando interim coach James Borrego said. "Loved the mentality he had tonight."

Tobias Harris posted 25 points and 12 boards for the Magic, who snapped a four-game losing streak and a 12-game slide on the road. The Magic won for only the second time in the last 12 tries.

Orlando had a 53-30 rebounding advantage and scored 17 points on 20 Minnesota turnovers.

The Magic are 11-27 on the road and will start a three-game homestand Wednesday versus Chicago, Toronto and New York.

Milwaukee is 2-1 against Orlando this season and has won four of the last five meetings between the teams. The Magic are winless in the last five trips to Milwaukee and 47-48 all-time in this series (14-33 on road).
