Jackson's late heroics help Pistons beat Heat

Apr 5, 2015 - 5:01 AM Auburn Hills, MI (SportsNetwork.com) - Reggie Jackson scored 15 of his 29 points in the fourth, including a late layup that gave his Detroit Pistons a 99-98 win over the Miami Heat on Saturday.

Jackson put on a show in the game's final 5:14. With the Pistons trailing by 15 points, he kept them in it with a three-point play before assisting on an Andre Drummond dunk that cut it to 10.

Miami led 96-85 when Jackson scored on three straight possessions, with his triple pulling Detroit within six. After Tayshaun Prince made two free throws, Jackson found Kentavious Caldwell-Pope for another 3.

Empty possessions both ways led to Jackson racing down the floor in transition and finishing a righty scoop layup from the left side with a pair of defenders on his tail with five seconds left. Wade, playing through a bruised left knee, netted 24 points and Goran Dragic scored 21 for the Heat, who have dropped three straight games.

"Terrible loss," said Wade. "It's going to be tough to get over this one. No way we should lose this game."

Detroit trailed 55-50 at halftime, but Anthony Tolliver hit a pair of 3s during an 8-0 run that gave the Pistons a 60-59 lead.

It was tied at 69 late in the third following another Tolliver triple. Henry Walker got fouled shooting from deep at the other end and made three free throws, and Miami led from there until Jackson's late layup.

James Ennis' three-point play highlighted a run at the end of the third that sent the Heat into the fourth with a a nine-point lead. Then a pair of Dragic free throws sparked a 12-6 swing that put Miami up 93-78 with seven minutes left.
