Lopez, Nets top Blazers

Apr 7, 2015 - 3:22 AM Brooklyn, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Brook Lopez had 32 points and nine rebounds as the Brooklyn Nets defeated the Portland Trail Blazers 106-96 on Monday.

Deron Williams posted 24 points and 10 assists and Thaddeus Young added 20 points for the Nets, who have won seven of their last eight games.

"We got back on track, kept focused. Did a good job, we're continuing to get better every game," Lopez said.

Brooklyn is a game ahead of Boston for the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference.

Damian Lillard netted 36 points and Meyers Leonard supplied 17 points and 15 rebounds for Portland, which had won six of its last seven contests coming in.

"I'm proud of the way we competed tonight," Portland head coach Terry Stotts said. "We just didn't quite have enough."

The Blazers are two games behind Memphis for the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference.

A C.J. McCollum layup staked the Blazers to a 33-30 advantage at the 8:33 mark of the second before Brooklyn, which trailed 25-22 following a quarter of play, seized control of the contest with a 19-3 run.

Williams and Bojan Bogdanovic nailed consecutive 3-pointers at one point during the surge, which was capped by a Williams driving layup for a 49-36 Nets advantage with 2:35 to go until the half.

Brooklyn led 54-38 at the break and 77-64 after three. The Blazers never got within less than six in the fourth.

After a Leonard hook pulled the Blazers within 89-83 with 4:38 left, Lopez hit a short jumper, Williams knocked down a 3 and Thaddeus Young drove in for a dunk to extend the cushion back to 96-83.

Brooklyn cruised from there.

The Nets scored 19 points off 14 Blazers turnovers and committed just seven turnovers themselves ... Portland was seeking its fourth straight road win and came in winning 10 of 13 in the series ... Brooklyn led by as many as 22.
