Knicks PG Marbury to return Monday

Dec 18, 2007 - 12:09 AM NEW YORK (Ticker) -- Stephon Marbury's latest hiatus from the New York Knicks is over.

Marbury will make his return and come off the bench when the Knicks host the Indiana Pacers on Monday.

A two-time All-Star, Marbury has missed five of New York's last seven games to mourn his late father, who died December 2 after experiencing chest pains during the Knicks' home game against the Phoenix Suns.

Marbury, who returned to practice on Sunday, has already made headlines this season for missing games. He unceremoniously left the team on November 13 upon learning that he had been demoted from the starting lineup.

After missing a game against the Suns that night, Marbury returned to the Knicks two days later and came off the bench in their next three contests.

Marbury, 29, is averaging 13.4 points and 4.9 assists in 17 games this season. New York (7-16) is 2-4 in games that Marbury has missed this season.
