Bucks re-sign 40-year-old Terry
Sep 19, 2017 - 1:58 AM Jason Terry is returning for another NBA season.The 40-year-old free agent re-signed with the Milwaukee Bucks for the 2017-18 season, the team announced Monday.
Terry, an 18-year veteran, played in 74 games for the Bucks last season. He averaged 4.1 points, 1.3 assists and 1.4 rebounds per game and shot 42.7 percent from 3-point range.
"'Jet' is a true professional who knows what it takes to be successful in the NBA," Bucks general manager Jon Horst said. "He's a terrific resource for our young group as we continue to develop into a championship-caliber team. We're excited to have him back in Milwaukee."
The 6-foot-2 guard has played in 1,359 NBA games. His career averages are 13.8 points, 3.9 assists and 2.4 rebounds per game. He also is a career 44.4 percent shooter who makes 38 percent from 3-point range. The former Arizona standout's 2,242 made 3-pointers rank first among active NBA players and third all time.
Selected with the 10th overall pick in the 2010 NBA Draft, Terry was with the Atlanta Hawks for the first five seasons of his career and then went to Dallas to play for the Mavericks for eight years, including their NBA title run in 2011.
Other stops included Brooklyn and Houston before Terry signed with the Bucks last season.
