NBA Note - Golden State Warriors Durant, Kevin

Sep 20, 2017 - 1:44 AM F Kevin Durant of the Golden State Warriors apologized and labeled his recent actions on Twitter as "childish" and "idiotic" on Tuesday while on a Tech Crunch panel in San Francisco. Durant claims he accidentally used his main Twitter account while defending his decision to leave Oklahoma City. When asked by a fan to give him "one legitimate reason for leaving okc other than getting a championship," the 2017 NBA Finals MVP responded in the third person with the following: "he didn't like the organization or playing for Billy Donovan. His roster wasn't that good, it was just him and Russ (Russell Westbrook)." While the words weren't supposed to be released from his primary count, they were ... prompting Durant to take ownership of his mistake on Tuesday. "I use Twitter to engage with fans," Durant said. "I happened to take it a little too far. That's what happens sometimes when I get into these basketball debates about what I really love, to play basketball. I don't regret clapping back at anybody or talking to my fans on Twitter. I do regret using my former coach's name and the former organization I played for. That was childish. That was idiotic, all those types of words. I apologize for that."
