Jazz G Exum could miss season with separated shoulder
Oct 7, 2017 - 4:58 PM Utah Jazz guard Dante Exum suffered a separated left shoulder and ligament damage in a preseason game Friday night and reportedly could miss the entire season. After an MRI revealed the injury, Jazz officials and doctors were meeting Saturday to discuss a plan of action on recovery and rehabilitation, league sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
The 22-year-old Exum, a native of Australia who was selected by Utah with the fifth overall pick in the 2014 draft, was injured on a drive to the basket in the first half of the 112-102 preseason victory over the Phoenix Suns.
"If you saw his shoulder, it didn't look good," Utah coach Quin Snyder said after Friday night's game.
Exum missed his second NBA season after tearing his ACL in the summer of 2015 while playing for his national team in Australia.
The 6-foot-6, 190-pound Exum averaged 6.2 points, 1.7 assists and 2.0 rebounds in 66 games (26 starts) last season.
