NBA Note - Minnesota Timberwolves Towns, Karl-Anthony

Oct 16, 2017 - 7:11 AM C Karl-Anthony Towns and G Tyus Jones had their fourth-year options exercised by the Timberwolves , the team announced Sunday.

Towns, the top overall pick in the 2015 draft, averaged 25.1 points and 12.3 rebounds while starting all 82 games for the second straight season in 2016-17. The 7-footer set a team single-season scoring record with 2,061 points and recorded 1,007 rebounds. He became the youngest player in NBA history to total at least 2,000 points and 1,000 rebounds in a season, the 15th player overall and first since Tim Duncan in 2001-02.
